It is a proposal that tries to call everybody who wants to send us a photo behind a tree of Murcia. It´s an appeal to choose a tree. The idea is to collect photographic material of our environment and of people who visit it and to make images which illustrate the relationship between Murcia and its nature, scenes that show how people and trees merge.
The photographic material will be used in different exhibitions with the proposals of the participants. The next initiative can be an example: This mentioned photographic material (making different kinds of collages) will be placed over the surface of columns of metal sheets. These columns would pretend to be trunks of tres and the photographs would be their bark.
One of the purposes of this initiative is to recover some of the ties that existed betweeen the environment and its inhabitants and to create other new links. Because of the changes that have taken place in the last decades in different sectors and that have changed the way of life and work of our society, ARBOLENO tries to take interest in the current situation of our town with its environment and to bring about a debate about it.
Another point of the proposal is to defend the environmental values of the tree as well as the ideas that its concept can evoke in us as it happened to Ramón y Cajal and Darwin which seems to indicate that everything is connected.
