This project tries to put the otter of the river Segura symbolically in contact with the otter of the river Duero and indirectly it attempts at dealing with different environmental issues.
It comes up with the news of the sighting of otters in the river Segura as it flows through the city of Murcia in the year 2013.
Then a series of paintings, texts and videos turn up.
Years later (2017) the news of wounded Duerita appears in the news.
These two pieces of news can be examples of the opposite extremes between which the human being moves.
Global warming, plastics and other kind of spills into the wild, animal abuse,… are mentioned in the videos of the virtual visit (The otter in the Segura river, The thaw …) and in some images and short stories of Trompe l´oeil.
In these sense, the otter is an excuse to see the influence of humans in nature.
